Sergey Prokofyev
presents
Local Dystopias in the Global Utopia
Fulldome film

Sergey Prokofyev, a dipl. architect and filmmaker, currently lives and works in Berlin. With extensive experience in both fields, he explores unique approaches to immersive storytelling. Believing that architecture transcends the mere creation of physical spaces, Sergey crafts experiences that resonate on a profound human level. His work aims to overcome the constraints of traditional media by leveraging immersive technologies to deepen the interaction between people and their environments.

His projects span the meticulous design of urban landscapes and the compelling art of immersive cinema, aiming to create collective experiences that inspire, engage, and challenge conventional perspectives. Sergey's immersive work has earned recognition at various international festivals.

In a sprawling desert, a unique cinematic experience unfolds across multiple dome screens, each revealing a distinct architectural tale.

Journeying through two dystopian worlds, we first encounter “High Rise Cult,” a forsaken village where wooden replicas of skyscrapers are suspended by balloons, embodying fragile hopes and impossible aspirations. Next, “The Doomed City” draws us into a mysterious city born in no man’s land, inspired by a painting by Nicholas Roerich.

This immersive film challenges perception, blurring the boundaries between architectural imagination and reality, utopian ambition and dystopian decay.
