Requirements from the participants
In this workshop the participants get to explore XR technologies and the potential of hybrid club performances both through a theoretical lens and creative practices. The workshop fosters collaboration and connection through storytelling, dance / movement as well as focusing on sustainable production methods, remote collaborations, and an aim to be open to all levels of experience in the technological aspects.
The workshop is hands-on where the participants get to create an avatar, explore its movement and if they wish contribute with their creations to the AV Live Performance Claimed Space / Slow Dance.
Marie Dahlén is an Assistant Professor in BA Computer Arts at Kristiania University of Applied Sciences and creates audio-visual art behind the persona AMUSED. Coming from a diverse creative background, from working as a 3D artist in the game industry, including titles such as Little Big Planet 2, to audio-visual art and a master in performing arts and has worked several years as a freelance VJ / visual artist. What motivates them is their interest in real time graphics and affordances of new technology.
Working as a teacher and researcher they have had the possibility to publish papers on topics of VR and GenAI. Further they are starting a PhD in Information Technology this autumn with the focus on future narratives, cultural re-interpretation and re-distribution through XR technologies.
