Minding Corals is an installation consisting of a video work and a plaster cast. It combines weeping tradition, asmr phenomenon and a practice of naming in natural sciences. The distant species, whose dreamy reality is happening concurrently. The work is an attempt to understand a transition phase which corals are going through. Feelings of powerlessness towards climate change and a mass extinction. It’s about an illusion of beauty, romanticism and projection of emotions towards symbols of destruction, human centrality and our contradictory role in climate change.
